I can’t believe this question still pops up every once in awhile on sites like Quora and even my comment section box.
Yes, you can make money online from blogging. Not only about your hobbies, but about everything. Honestly, I don’t think the average blogger or wannabe blogger understand how big the internet audience is.
It is insanely huge, and it’s getting bigger every second of the day.
New hobbies, new niches, new topics and new sub-topics are created each and every single day. I read an article a few weeks back that said around 300,000,000 new search terms are searched for each year!
So yes, back to your question;
- You can make money blogging,
- Yes you can make money in any particular niche and;
- No blogging is not dead yet.
Just remember; there are blogs selling cow poop, pet rocks, glitter bombs and even cans of fresh air. If you think you can not make money blogging about your hobbies and passions, then you are mistaken.
If you have a hobby and want to blog about it (and hopefully make some money with it), do you really think that you are the only person online that has that hobby?
I have no idea what your hobby is, but I am pretty sure there are millions of internet users online right now that have the same hobby, are thinking of starting that hobby or would love to start a new hobby if it’s properly presented to them by somebody that is already doing it..
My hobby is blogging, and that is why I’ve chose “blogging” as my topic.
I never said I was an expert; I never said that I have all the answers to how to make money blogging. I just blog about my experiences; my wins and my failures and how you can go about having more wins than failures with your own blog – that is all!
Sure there are a lot of blogs on blogging out there, but mine is unique. Not because I have a unique, secret knowledge, it’s just that my experiences are unique to me.
My voice is unique to me too.
I have nearly six years now under my belt of writing blog posts, so I feel that gives me a bit more experience than the average newbie blogger out there.
I’ve built a successful monetized blog way before I ever decided to “blog on blogging” and yes, (in case you are wondering); I do make money from my blogs.
I now have 6 blogs in total (two of them being eCommerce stores).
Just know; I’ve started way more than four blogs in my life. The majority of them now defunct. However, I did manage to make 6 of them work, and today, I want to share with you my tips and tricks on how you can make your blog work as well.
If you want to start a blog about a hobby, this is the best way to go about it.
See sometimes people want to blog about topics that have been proven to be highly profitable.
That is ok, there is nothing wrong with that, but you have to keep in mind that your blog is not going to make you money instantly.
If you want to blog about a hobby that you enjoy, you have a much bigger chance of making it through the learning phase and waiting it out till it becomes profitable.
Why?
Well because you enjoy it right?
So blogging about it is not something “you have to do” but rather “something that you like to do”.
If you want to know if you would get bored blogging about your hobby, ask yourself this one single question:
Would you get bored of talking about your hobby all the time?
As I said, blogging is my hobby. I can talk, read and write about it all day long (and I have been for the past three years or so).
All I do every day is read about blogging and try out new ideas on my own blogs, then write about my experiences with it. That’s it and again; yes this is how I make money with my blogs.
I don’t often like to say exactly how much I earn because to me; that seems irrelevant. Knowing what my income is like is not going to help you earn yourself however, I did write about how I made over $2,000 in one weekend not too long ago.
So, now that I’ve hopefully convinced you that yes YOU CAN make money online blogging about your hobbies, how about I show you how to do it?

If you follow those four (simple) steps, you too be able to build, run and profit from a variety of different blogs. Then you can have a blog empire!
Surely it’s not that easy…
Of course it isn’t.
It takes an enormous amount of time, preparation, focus, determination and hard work before you even make your first cent online.

It was horrible, I was completely devastated and I sure as hell felt like giving up but at the right moment; those $0.87c came in, and I had a brand new outlook on things.
Holy sh*t! This thing really does make money! AH-HA!
Needless to say, I’ve doubled and tripled down on my efforts from then on and now four years later, here I am running a mini blog empire just like I’ve always dreamed about!
It’s been a tough ride but them well worth it. I still have a lot more to go and I am inspired by reading other people’s success stories like this one of a 20-year-old blogger that is making $10,000 a month with Amazon.

Stories like that should inspire you (and me) to go harder and harder on our business. Stay up and work on your business till your eyes start bleeding. I know that sounds graphic, but I am telling you; this is hard work.
Blogging is not a “make money quick” thing. As a matter of fact, it’s probably the most “make money slow” way you can use to make money online.
But that fact is that you do make money. And even with working 6 to 12 months before you can start seeing some money, it’s still well worth the effort.
I am writing this in January 2017 and according to my calculations; I will match my income of all 2016 till June 2016 – imagine gettign that type of rise from your work – it will never happen!
So again; YES you can make money blogging about your hobbies.
Find a hobby that you would like to write about, get some training to walk you through those four steps I just told you about and work till your eyeballs drop.
If you do it right, in 12 months times you are going to have a successful business on your hands that is growing every single month.
