What Are The Benefits Of Blogging? 7 Ways Blogging Can Help You

I have over 200 posts on this blog talking about the many benefits that blogging can have on your online and even offline business.

To me, blogging is probably the easiest, safest and most rewarding ways you can make money online but rarely do I talk about the personal benefits of blogging.

Blogging can change YOU. As in your being and who you are, and that is something worth talking about.

Sure the recognition, passive income, and challenges that will come your way through blogging are all exciting but to get to that point, you will have to really find yourself and what you are about.

I don’t want this post to turn into some motivation / power-thinking post but I do have to share with you some of the many personal benefits that I have seen happening with myself as I build my blog businesses and constantly trying to take them to the next level.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog or even an online business through blogging, then this post is something that I think you should look at carefully.

What Are The Benefits Of Blogging? 7 Ways Blogging Can Help You

What Are The Benefits Of Blogging?

It’s A Great Hobby

Apart from anything else that we’ll discuss today, at the end of the day, blogging is a great hobby to have.

  • It’s inexpensive to start.
  • It’s healthy for you.
  • It keeps you occupied away from bad habits.
  • It helps you be more creative and much more.

My blog is dedicated to people that want to learn how to make money from blogging but if you just want to blog for the sake of it, (as a hobby), then you will find that blogging will be something you enjoy doing.

You Get To Help People

My aim here is to help people that want to blog get the confidence and skills required for them to take action, start blogging and make something out of nothing.

That has been my goal ever since I’ve started this blog which has now helped 100s of people make their first income online.

It’s maybe my ego talking, but I do like to know that my words have a global reach and in some way or the other, I can help people across the world from my tiny home office just by using a few words to share my experiences with doing this.

It’s both empowering and humbling when I get positive reviews on my email newsletter page telling me that I somehow helped somebody.

It’s always a good feeling to have and to be honest, I may appreciate an email from a reader more than I appreciated an email notifying me of a sale I did. So get in touch!

You Will Learn, A Lot

When I started blogging, yes it was with the main aim of making money (although blogging is much more than that).

However, as soon as I dived in and committed myself to building a successful blog, there was more for me to learn than just how to publishing an 800-word blog post.

I had to learn how to:

  • Do search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Learn how to use social media to interact with readers.
  • Shoot, edit and publish videos.
  • Sign up to affiliate networks.
  • Do keyword research.
  • Analyze the data I’m getting it and what to do with it.
  • Start an email list.
  • Design blog graphics and social media images (I had no idea about graphic design).
  • and much more.

The amount of learning I had to do to “be a blogger” is insane and for that I am grateful.

Also, the time spent learning all this stuff was also financially beneficial to me as I also do freelancing work with regards to most of the items listed above.

You Constantly Push Yourself

This is also a great benefit of blogging and something that I have struggled with in the past until I realized it’s a must thing to do if I wanted to make this happen for real.

As a blogger, you have to constantly push yourself to be better yourself, build a better blog and also push yourself to help more and more people in any way that you can.

I now work up to 15 hours a day sometimes just to achieve all the goals that I have laid out for myself, but I love it and I don’t see it as work at all.

If I didn’t have these things to focus on, I would not know what to do with my time.

Thank you blogging,

You Are Encouraged To Express Yourself

In a world where we have to “obey the rules’ and not go against the norm, in the world of blogging you are free, as a matter of fact; “encouraged” to go against the grain and express your true self in your words.

Actually, the more of an “outsider” you are online, the more you can quickly carve out a name for yourself and allow the right people to listen.

Whatever it is you like to do and talk about, you can do it all online through a simple blog, and you have an audience of billions that is willing to listen if you do it right.

Now that’s something that I have not quite come across outside of blogging.

Yes, You Make Money

Ok, I had to put this in but take a look at all the benefits mentioned in this post and realize that you can get paid as well for all these benefits.

How great is that?

What other venture can allow you to do what you love, help people along the way, constantly push yourself to new heights and getting paid for it.

I admit, making money with a blog is not easy but it sure is possible and if you are interested in becoming a money-making blogger than all you need to do is to get some training, see how it’s done and then go do it yourself.

You Will Become An Authority Online

The better you get at learning how to express yourself and teach people, the more you will become an “authoritative figure” online and that is a HUGE confidence boost.

How would you like to be known worldwide as the go-to guy / gal for a particular subject you are interested in?

That would be amazing right? It would be and yes, it is all possible if you take the time to build a blog that people enjoying coming to and reading.

DisAdvantages Of Blogging?

Is blogging all that great? For me it is, but I do understand that everything in life is not 100% great.

Yes, blogging does have its challenges and it’s probably not for everyone but if you want to do it out of passion and / or interest, then I think blogging can be a life-changing experience for you.

One minor thing that puts people off blogging is this: it’s a slow, slow progress.

A successful blog does not get built in a day, as you can see from my post here, it took me well over 2 years to get this blog you are reading right now to a level where I imagined it in the first place.

Of course now I have new goals to reach for but it is slow and if I genuinely didn’t like what I do, I would’ve given this up a long time ago.

If this post has inspired you to blog, just understand that all the benefits I am talking about won’t come overnight.

There is actual work involved in all of it and it will take some time to finally see all the benefits of blogging we’ve discussed here today.

But that’s ok, just enjoy the ride and you will probably look back on this day and you’ll be glad you decided to take action.

What if in 12 months time you will be making $10,000 a month on autopilot like this guy and traveling the world?

It’s possible, but if you give up after 6 months of earning nothing, then the big payout out on month 12 will never, ever happen for you.

Final Words

I really hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing this.
