How To Feel More Motivated In General

Are you going through a slump? Do you feel less motivated than you used to and wonder just where all your motivation has gone?

Perhaps you longer find so much joy in the things you used to, or maybe you just don’t feel incentivized to do anything like work out or eat healthily.

This sort of slump is normal and we all go through times when we don’t quite feel ourselves.

If this goes on, it’s a good idea to seek help from a professional, but before you do, there are some home things you can try to help lift you from this slump. Here are some tips to help you feel more motivated.

How To Feel More Motivated In General

Take a look at your diet

While eating unhealthily in moderation isn’t a bad thing, if you are doing it all the time you can find your energy levels decline and you feel less positive.

Combat this by trying to add five portions of fruit and veg into your diet and drinking plenty of water. Research some healthy recipes to make eating well more interesting and invest in a water filter if the water in your home doesn’t taste the best.

Try and look at portion control to ensure you’re not over-eating and plan your meals for the week ahead. These should make it easier to be healthier!

Surround yourself with positive people

A large part of who we are is influenced by those that we surround ourselves with. If we are surrounded by people that are negative, it can soon make us the same. Instead, take a look at who you leave after seeing and feel happy and refreshed.

If you don’t and this has been going on for some time, it might be a good idea to reassess your relationship with them.

You want to be with people that encourage you to be your best self and that you feel happy and relaxed.

Reassess your life goals

Another reason you might no longer be feeling as motivated as you used to is that you aren’t happy with the direction your life is going. If this is the case, have a look at why this is and what you can change in order to feel happy and motivated again.

For example, are you stuck in a career rut? Is there something you’d prefer to be doing, or has your company turned toxic? If so, look to speak to your manager and explain how you feel or search for a new job.

If you’re in a relationship that’s going nowhere, communicate and if nothing changes, decide if it’s really the right one for you.

These are just a few top tips to help you feel more motivated. Implementing these should have a positive influence and hopefully, you will start to feel yourself again in no time.
