AdSense, while not the best ad platform out there, is the perfect choice for beginners who are just wetting their feet with ad revenue and making money online.
While I would not suggest you start adding AdSense banner all over the place when you are just starting your blog, since you see at least 1000+ visitors a month, you may want to add some banners and see how they perform.
