When you first get into blogging, you won’t always know where you want to take things- nor will you always see it as a career choice.
Sometimes, you just get started because it sounds like fun. Or you love to write. Or you have something to say about a particular product.
But then you might realize that you actually do love this blogging thing. And you want to be able to do more with it.
However, when you’re in a rhythm of doing things in a set way, you can’t always see or work out what is going to be the best next step for you.
And when you want to be able to take things to the next level, it’s just so important that you’re able to do this. So, to help you, let’s take a look at how you can do it.
But we’re not going to do it in the same way that you may have seen before. This time, we’re going to take things offline.
Because that’s the thing about blogging – it’s an online thing, so it’s really easy to think that you need to make your moves online if you’re ever going to get anywhere with your blog.
But that’s just not true.
When your blog is your business, you can do just about anything with it that you want. Because it is a business, and therefore a full range of tactics are available to you.
So let’s take a look at what some of them could be.
Improve Your Writing
So first of all, one of the things that you absolutely need to do here is work on your writing. Don’t think about your social media and how you’re going to market well.
Just write.
When you can work on improving your writing skills, and you can hone in on your style, and really establishing your voice, you will find that you’re able to connect with your audience on a much more personal and intimate level.
And yes, this is the first way that you level up.
Talk To Your Customers
But then, you need to really talk to your customers. Your audience. You need to ask them what they want. You need to understand who they are.
You need to get to know them so well, that you can start talking directly to them, with the right language, the best content, and only blogging consistently and listening to feedback can help you here.
Give Them What They Want
Then, when you’ve done that, you need to give them what they want. Listen to the questions they’re asking you. Respond to their feedback.
Forget about fancy digital marketing strategies and just give them the content that they are asking for.
THIS is what will really transform things for you.
Attend Conferences
The next thing that you might want to consider is to attend a conference.
Because conferences can be so important for your personal and professional growth. So take a look at some of the blog conferences that you could attend.
Because you may grow your knowledge and your experience and your outlook that will help you to take things to the next level.
(and) Trade Shows
And then there’s also trade shows to think about too. Maybe you have a local show that you want to attend? Or you’ve been invited to something that you think it will be perfect?
Then you’re going to want to consider your setup.
- Do you want a 10×10 trade show booth or just a stand?
- Do you need banners and marketing material?
- How are you going to collect data to make this worthwhile?
Think about how you can really boost your readership and engagement with your audience by appearing at shows.
Throw Your Own Event
However, whether you do that or not, you may feel as if you want to throw your own event.
So do it.
Get your customers to come to you. Throw them a dinner party. Ask them to come to your favourite restaurant to connect.
Get other bloggers or influencers to come and join you.
Offline events and meeting your audience can be a really effective way to connect deeper, but also to get more content to share online too.
Attend Blogging Events
But then also, you could be on the lookout for blogging events that are going on in your area or around the country.
Because if you are connecting with other bloggers and different companies, you’ll never know what kinds of opportunities might come your way.
Work With Brands
As a step on from that, you’re going to want to think about the different ways that you can collaborate with brands.
Maybe this is a way that you can generate sponsorship money or even partnerships that will then go on to benefit your audience.
But also, this can be a way to really take your blog to the next level.
Do Some PR
From here, you might also want to think about doing some good old-fashioned PR. It’s easy to believe that everyone is online.
And that you’re always going to be able to target the most relevant people in your audience via social media. But that’s not always the case.
You could be missing out others that read papers or magazines.
So why not look to run some traditional PR to support what you’re doing on social media too?
Create A Product
And then finally, you might also want to think about launching your own product too. It’s easy to think that your blog is your baby. And it is.
BUT, it is not the only baby that you have. Because you have this platform and from here, you could then create a product and then be able to launch it to your audience.
You’ve worked hard to create this audience and engage with them.
So maybe there is a product that is relevant to your blog and your niche, that will take things to the next level for you.
