Blogging 101: How To Stay Consistent With Your Posts

Writers have those days where they feel they just can’t write anything, or the creative juices are not flowing.

If you’re a blogger, this can be frustrating because it’s your job to blog consistently.

The good news is that there are some ways to combat writer’s block and stay consistent with your posts while still allowing for a bit of creativity in each post.

How To Stay Consistent With Your Posts

Blog About Something You Genuinely Enjoy

To stay consistent with your blog, you’ll want to find a topic that interests you. Also, it’s easier if it doesn’t take too much time or effort because sometimes blogging can be pretty demanding.

You might find yourself spending hours in front of the computer each day and unable to do other things like spending quality time with your family or friends.

When you find a topic that is fun and easy to blog about, it will be easier for you to maintain the consistency of your posts.

For example, if you’re passionate about cooking, blogging about recipes like the blackened mahi mahi or baking and cooking equipment won’t feel tedious or unexciting.

You’ll also want to make sure the information on your blog isn’t outdated because people may stop visiting if they feel like there’s nothing new.

Remember that blogging is about serving the readers and keeping them coming back to read fresh content.

Take Advantage of the Morning Energy

Research has shown that people are more productive in the mornings. So if you’re a morning person, take advantage of this time with your blog!

You’ll have more energy, which will help you write for longer periods before becoming tired or distracted.

It’s also easier to plan out what content should go on your blog in the morning since you’re not distracted by work or other commitments.

Even if you’re more productive at night, it’s still a good idea to set aside time for blogging during the mornings as well. This will help with consistency and keep people interested in what you have to say.

It’ll also show that you’re a reliable and consistent blogger.

Practice Writing Every Day, Even for No Purpose

The key to staying consistent with your blog is practice. Write every day, even if it’s just for ten minutes. This will keep you in the habit of writing and give you a routine that helps motivate you.

It also prevents writer’s block by keeping the words flowing regularly so when inspiration strikes or deadlines loom, your head is clear, and your mind is ready to work.

Blog on the Clock

Every blogger should have a routine to keep them consistent with their posts.  One way is by blogging on the clock. Simply set aside an hour or two each day and blog about whatever you want, without worrying if there’s something better to write.

What matters most is that you are productive during your work time instead of wasting time surfing the web, checking your social media feeds, and so on.

It’s also a good idea to set aside time for other content creation types: audio (podcasts), video (vlogging), or even text-based posts. Getting into these habits will ensure you have enough supply of blog post ideas for the long term.

For a lot of bloggers, consistency is the hardest part of blogging. It can be challenging to stay motivated and stick with your posts when you’re not seeing instant results or don’t know what direction your blog should go.

To remain consistent with your posts, you need to do what is best for you. Write the type of content that you enjoy writing and find interesting enough to keep up with.
