6 Reasons Why Bloggers Never Make Any Money

It’s a well-known fact that the majority of bloggers (which depends on the data you look at could be above 90%) never make any money from their efforts, or at least not enough for them to make it a viable income that they can live on.

But why is that?

How come with so many products and websites showing you step by steps systems on how to monetise, people still fail at it?

Well, to be frank about it, as I’ve come to see while reviewing products for my new site, most of these “products” are just plain rubbish.

However; there are good programs out there that can teach you in a simple, easy to follow and step by step process how to make money online, yet people still fail at it.

The main thing that I see is that people fail to do the work necessary for them to succeed, I shall mark this as my main point because I have done it myself over and over again.

It wasn’t until I decide that I really am going to do this that I’ve started getting ahead and now, thankfully, I’ve managed to make it happen.

That’s right, the main reason you are not making any money with your blog is probably you.

You’re Not Putting In the Necessary Effort

Think about it really; there are a lot of resources for you to learn from, there are other examples of people making money blogging, yet still it doesn’t quite happen for you.

Could it be that you are not using the information you’re getting? Could it be that you are not investing enough time, energy and focus in your business?

I’m sure you would agree and I’ll be the first one to raise my hand to this. Again; I’ve done this so many times.

Sometimes I think; “what if I stuck with it from the very first time I started this “making money online” thing”. Gosh, I would be in a much better position today.

Not that I can complain about my currents statistics, but I’m hungry; I always want more haha.

How Did I Fix This And How Can You Too?

Just do it. If you really want to do it. Just effing do it.

Sleep a bit less, spend less, work more, fail a million times and try just one more time.

About 4 years ago I had given up on this but somehow I found myself joining a website called Wealthy Affiliate which since then I have not left yet because I owe all that I’ve achieved to it.

Even as a WA member I’ve quit once but I kept coming back to it again and again; till I finally cracked it and made my first sale of $0.87c. (I won’t go into much detail about that but the story is fully explained in my free ebook).

So if you want to get serious. do this:

  • Get serious (duh)
  • Start a recurring to-do list of the tasks you have to do for your business
  • Get some training and follow it to the letter.
  • Enjoy the results.

Moving On…

Now that we’ve looked at what could probably the main culprit that is stopping you from making money with your blog, let’s look at some other variables that can be hindering you from receiving a monthly payout:

Not Enough Visitors Yet

No business can make money without people and your blog is no different. You absolutely need visitors ( i.e readers) if you want to make money with your blog.

If you are only getting a handful of visitors, keep at it. They will come if you just keep publishing content and promoting it.

Here are some ways you can promote your blog posts for you to get more visitors. I recommend you also check this training if you’ve already published a ton of content yet you are not seeing any results.

How many traffic do you need before your blog makes money?

Good question.

Then depends on the quality of the traffic you are getting but if you are receiving 100 visitors a day, then you should be able to make some money with it. Maybe not “full-time income” money but, at least; something.

If you are getting that but still no sales, send me an email and we can discuss how to change that.

Not Enough Content (Yet)

Continuing on from the previous point; if you are not having visitors come in, chances are you have not published enough content yet.

You can’t expect to have 100s of visitors if you only have 3 blog posts up. It is possible but it’s not something that is likely to happen.

That is why you should always set yourself a posting schedule and stick with it. Also do not look at a post as just 1 thing, think of it as another brick laid onto your blog’s foundation.

You can’t judge your blog by 1 post, keep moving, keep adding, keep writing and keep publishing.

Over time, as you build out your content and your site is filled with resourceful information, you will start getting rankings and shares. It just takes time…

You Haven’t Given It Enough Time

If you stick by this long enough, then I can guarantee you that you will make your first sale (like that $0.87c for me) and once hat comes in, you will be light on fire and you will be able to see that in fact, it can happen to you as well.

Once you get your first sale; the world is for the taking.

The confidence boost that it gives is spectacular and I always credit those few cents I made as a life-changing moment for me.

If you haven’t made any money with your blog just yet and you are dead sure you are doing it right, then give it some time and you will.

How much time?

That depends and that’s an entirely different blog post but you can expect to make your first sale in your first 4-6 months and start earning a recurring, monthly income by month 10-12.

Some take less, some take more; it depends on a lot of variables.

I’ve still not hit the $10,000 a month mark after 4 years but this guy made it happen in his first 12 months.

Am I jelly? A bit yes but the data is showing me that I am not too far off from that 10K mark and I am enjoying the process of running my life and my business on my own terms.

Just stick with it, please do.

It hurts my feelings to know that there are people out there a few days away from their first sale and they give up, just ride it through… please!

As a matter of fact, if you’ve had a blog that has been up for a year or so and you did everything right with it and want to get rid of it, send me an email and I will buy it off you. (At least, you would’ve made some money)

I know this sounds a bit crazy but I’m serious! LOL! Get in touch!

You’re Doing It Wrong

This breaks my heart and brings back so many “bad memories” because for about the first year in my online journey, I was just doing things, simply put; wrong.

It wasn’t entirely my fault, though. I trusted these cheap products that the people I was subscribing to were sending me just to make a quick buck.

Needless to say, I was putting in the effort, but in the wrong formula.

This is probably one of the main reasons I have started this blog, to show people the right steps from a proven formula that I’ve tried on how to do it right.

There is nothing more soul-shattering than finding out 6 months down the line that what you’ve been doing is not what you need to do.

That hurts.

If you have a blog up, have a ton of content and probably even have visitors coming in but yet no money, there is something wrong.

If you are at this stage, then I suggest you pause your efforts right now, join a free training course (like Wealthy Affiliate) and follow the proven system laid out for you there.

And I know it works because it is what I have followed these past few years to build my online business.

If you think there is something that is not quite right, there probably is.

Don’t feel too bad about it, though, even though I know it sucks. This is part of your learning curve and I assure you once you find the right system, you will be successful.

In Closing

I really hope this post has shed some light for you in terms of why bloggers never make any money.

If you are in this position, take these tips to heart but do not let the circumstances stop you moving forward.

If there is anything I have learned is that constant action will eventually lead you to your desired outcome. Always!

Remember; success is not something easy to do, otherwise, everybody would do it. But it sure is nice to be able to say that you are now your own boss.

Can you imagine that? Have you thought about how awesome it really is to be free of that daily grind we hate so much?

That is all possible if you just learn how to properly build a successful blog and make money with it.

People think that this is some complicated process which only the “computer geniuses” can achieve.

That is not true at all.

If you join my newsletter, I will send you my free ebook and also send you an invitation to a training course that will show you how to get started even without any computer knowledge whatsoever.

You just need to have the will to do it. If interested, you can use the form above to subscribe to my emails newsletter and let me handle the rest.

Thank you very much.
